ARCTIC DAY : 11th October

The Arctic is a key region for our shared future – Arctic Day brings together leaders and experts to shape solutions in a time of transformation. Hosted by the Nordic Pavilion, this flagship event is part of the Joint Nordic Events series at EXPO 2025 Osaka.

As the Arctic region faces dramatic climate change and shifting geostrategic realities, new challenges and opportunities are emerging that demand global attention and collaboration. The Nordic countries are strongly engaged in issues concerning this unique, harsh, and vulnerable area, and possesses significant Arctic expertise and competence in several fields. Arctic Day will focus on key themes such as polar research, digitalization, and pan-Arctic connectivity.

The event brings together ministers, policymakers, researchers, investors, technology innovators, and business leaders from both the Nordic countries and Japan to exchange insights and identify strategic investment opportunities. The aim is to strengthen Nordic-Japan collaboration in strategic areas and promote concrete actions that support sustainable growth in the Arctic region.

「北極デー」では、変革の時代における解決策を形づくるため、リーダーや専門家が一堂に会します。本イベントは、2025年大阪・関西万博で開催される「ジョイント・ノルディック・イベント」シリーズの旗艦イベントのひとつです。

北極圏は急激な気候変動や地政学的状況の変化に直面しており、世界的な注目と協力を必要とする新たな課題と機会が生まれています。北欧諸国は、このユニークで厳しく、脆弱な地域に関する課題に積極的に取り組んでおり、極地研究、デジタル化、汎北極圏の接続性など、多くの分野で豊富な知見と専門性を有しています。

本イベントでは、北欧諸国と日本の閣僚、政策決定者、研究者、投資家、テクノロジーの革新者、そしてビジネスリーダーが集まり、洞察を共有し、戦略的な投資機会を見極めます。目的は、北極地域における持続可能な成長を支える具体的な行動を促進し、北欧と日本の戦略的協力関係をさらに強化することです。
