The Finnish Institute in Japan and the University of Jyväskylä invite you to a special one-day program exploring how education, research, and the arts contribute to well-being and a smarter, more sustainable future. Through seminars, hands-on workshops, immersive VR experiences, and art installations, the program offers a rich journey into the intersection of knowledge and creativity.

VR Art Experience: Love Simulation EVE: Water Spirits

An interactive 6-minute immersive VR artwork where your hand movements create moments of connection. Originally premiered in 2023 at the Espoo City Theatre (Finland), this award-winning piece is now at the Nordic Pavilion!

Immersive Art Installation: Phantom Bloom

By Finnish artist Aaro Murphy
Explore the connection between scent and memory through this sensory-rich installation combining video, sound, and aroma. Inspired by Japan’s Kōdō (the art of incense) and created in collaboration with Takasago International Corporation using Headspace technology, the piece features the scent of the rare orchid Aerides lawrenceae.
