Denmark Day Details Announced at the Nordic Pavilion

A Special Day Showcasing Denmark’s Music, Culture, and Innovation with Distinguished Guests and the Presence of His Majesty the King
The Nordic Pavilion, representing the five Nordic countries—Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden—will host a National Day for each country. Denmark will be the first among them, celebrating its National Day on April 24, 2025 (Thursday). The event program has now been officially announced, promising a special day filled with unique experiences.
The program will be structured in two parts: morning and afternoon.
In the morning, the official opening ceremony will take place at the National Day Hall. The ceremony will be attended by His Majesty the King of Denmark, high-ranking Danish government officials, and representatives from major partners such as A.P. Moller Fonden, Novo Nordisk Fonden, Danish Crown, and LEGO. The event will highlight Denmark’s international collaborations and commitment to innovation.
In the afternoon, a special music performance celebrating the connection between Denmark and Japan will take center stage. The event will feature a live performance by Mina Okabe, a Danish-Japanese singer-songwriter, along with a special jazz trio performance by Jakob Bro, Nikolaj Busk, and Midori Takada. This unique collaboration will blend Nordic and Japanese musical traditions, creating an extraordinary experience for the audience.
Music Performance Highlights
■ Mina Okabe – A Rising Global Star
Mina Okabe, a Danish-Japanese artist, gained widespread recognition with her debut album Better Days, which became a domestic hit in Denmark and achieved 4× platinum certification in South Korea. She has been selected as a Spotify Radar Artist and featured as a rising talent on Apple Music. Her hit song Every Second became a social media sensation, amassing over 500 million streams worldwide.
Mina has performed at Roskilde Festival (Denmark), Seoul Jazz Festival (Korea), and Local Green Festival (Japan), among others. She also joined three-time Grammy-nominated artist Lukas Graham as a special guest on his tour. In 2025, she is set to release a new album, further cementing her place in the international music scene.
A Unique Jazz Collaboration Merging Nordic and Japanese Sounds
A special jazz trio will bring together Nordic folk influences, improvisation, and minimalism, offering an exceptional and poetic musical experience. The fusion of spontaneity and composition will create an immersive and dreamlike atmosphere.

■Jakob Bro – Jazz guitarist under the ECM label, renowned for collaborations with legends such as Paul Motian, Bill Frisell, and Joe Lovano.
■Nikolaj Busk – A member of Dreamers’ Circus, blending jazz, folk, and contemporary music styles.
■Midori Takada – A pioneering Japanese ambient and minimalist percussionist, known for her unique sound inspired by African and Japanese musical traditions.
This jazz trio’s performance will offer an unforgettable blend of Nordic and Japanese musical artistry, capturing the essence of both cultures.
