Event Report: Nordic Pavilion at the "50 Days to Go" Event at Osaka Station

The Nordic Pavilion was honored to participate in the "50 Days to Go" event at Osaka Station, organized by JR West. This event marked an important milestone in the countdown to Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, and we were delighted to meet so many visitors who stopped by our booth and stage program, even in the cold weather.
We also had the pleasure of joining the stage program, where Finn Kristian Aamodt, Commissioner General for Norway introduced the Nordic Pavilion and answered questions about what visitors can look forward to. You can read the full Q&A below for more details.
Q&A with Finn Kristian Aamodt
1) What is the concept for the Nordic Pavilion?
The concept is Trust and Collaboration. The five Nordic countries—Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden—will come together to showcase the best of each country by sharing their strengths and initiatives. Visitors will experience the heart of Nordic innovation and culture.
2) What can we see at the Nordic Pavilion?
At the Nordic Pavilion, visitors will be welcomed into the essence of everyday Nordic life. A massive screen made from recycled paper, created using unused rice, will showcase scenes from daily life in the Nordic countries. The exhibition will also highlight how Nordic nations are addressing global challenges such as Green transigion, well-being, and food safety. It will feel as though you’ve stepped right into the heart of the Nordics.
3) Can we eat anything at the Nordic Pavilion?
Yes! We’ll have a rooftop restaurant and café where visitors can enjoy traditional dishes from all five Nordic countries. From delicious seafood to hearty meat dishes, there will be something for everyone. You can also savor treats like Danish pastries and Norwegian beer.
4) Can you give a message to the people in Osaka?
Thank you so much for visiting us despite the cold weather! Every time I visit the Expo site in Osaka, I feel the excitement growing stronger. Pavilions from around the world are taking shape, and the Nordic Pavilion is steadily preparing to welcome visitors. With only 50 days to go, we can’t wait to see you there!
