Finland is set to shine at Expo 2025 Osaka with special Finland Day celebrations on June 12, 2025. It will be a perfect opportunity for every Japanese Expo visitor to experience the country's unique blend of happiness, sustainability, fashion and unique culture with a bit of quirkiness, too. President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, and his spouse Suzanne Innes-Stubb, will join the Expo 2025 in Osaka, where President Stubb will open the Finland’s National Day on 12 June.

Finland joins Expo 2025 in Osaka with other Nordic countries Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, emphasizing the globally important values of trust and cooperation. In addition to President Stubb, also Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, Ville Tavio, other members of parliament and leaders of Finnish companies partnering with the Expo will attend the ceremonies and participate in cooperation with Japan and other participants.

Happiness for Everyone

The theme of Finland Day is "Happiness Day of Finland," offering visitors of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to experience the elements of Finnish happiness.

Finland’s Commissioner General Nita Pilkama says:

“The starting point for the planning of Finland Day was to do something fun and original and offer experiences for every Expo visitor. From the beginning, we wanted to bring together different Finnish industries and culture and create a unique combination that would make Finland unforgettable for the Expo visitors.”

During Finland Day there will be various activities at the Nordic Pavilion. Children and adults alike can meet and greet the real Santa Claus from Finland. The beloved Moomins, celebrating their 80th anniversary this year, will also be taking part in the Finland Day. And what would be the Finland Day be without a Finnish sauna? Of course we will have sauna involved, too!
