Unleashing Creativity! A Nordic Picture Book Workshop on SDGs

On March 1st, the Nordic Pavilion held the "Let's Think About SDGs Together! Discovering Nordic Happiness Through Picture Books" workshop at ITOCHU SDGs Studio in Tokyo. Families and book lovers gathered to explore sustainability through storytelling and creativity.
Storytelling & Creativity in Action
The event began with an introduction to the Nordic countries and their approach to SDGs. Adam Beije from the Swedish Embassy read "BRON" by Eva Lindström, a Swedish book about bridges and connections.
Children then took part in a drawing workshop, imagining and illustrating their own endings to the story. They proudly shared their creative ideas, showing how storytelling can inspire new perspectives.
Exploring Nordic Literature
The event also featured picture books from all five Nordic countries and Moomin colouring pages, showcasing the unique storytelling traditions of the region.
Inspiring a Sustainable Future
The workshop highlighted how SDGs are part of everyday life in the Nordics and encouraged participants to think about their own role in sustainability. Thank you to everyone who joined!
