8 Nominees Leading the Way for a Better Future
Eight groundbreaking ideas have been nominated for the inaugural Pioneer Prize. Each represents a bold step toward environmental, social, and economic progress:
1. Neola Medical : Lund-based medtech providing continuous monitoring of lung-related problems suffered by premature babies, with an instant warning system for complications
2. Modvion : Gothenburg-based Modvion builds wind turbine towers from laminated wood – nature’s own carbon fibre
3. Blue Ocean Closures : Karlstad-based company making bio-based, ocean biodegradable recyclable packaging
4. GreenIron : Stockholm-based company serving the metal, mining, and manufacturing industries by recycling minerals and metals, via patented, energy-efficient and fossil-free technology
5. Candela : Electric boats and ferries from Stockholm, serving professional and leisure industries, with unique hydrofoil tech
6. CorPower Ocean : Designs, manufactures, and operates wave energy farms. Headquartered in Stockholm with offices in Norway, Scotland, and Portugal
7. Elonroad : Lund-based company that has designed an in-road conductive charging system, with ground-integrated rails enabling 24/7 charging
8. Cemvision : Climate-positive cement, producing a more sustainable and commercially viable product out of Stockholm
